Dubai Rail Link: Etihad Rail Pedestrian Bridge to Metro Opens Thursday

A roughly 400-metre pedestrian bridge linking Etihad Rail's Al Yalayis Station with Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station opens Thursday, Oct. 15, giving rail passengers direct access to the Dubai Metro Red Line.
Why it matters
Etihad Rail has announced that a new pedestrian bridge connecting its Al Yalayis Station with Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station opens on Thursday, Oct. 15. The roughly 400-metre covered bridge lets passengers walk directly between the two stations — no taxi or feeder bus needed to change trains.
The bridge gives Etihad Rail passengers direct access to the Dubai Metro Red Line and the rest of the city, and works in reverse too: Dubai residents can ride the Metro to Jumeirah Golf Estates and continue to Abu Dhabi or Fujairah by rail. Until it opens, riders can use RTA's F38 feeder bus between the stations.
Background
Etihad Rail's Dubai passenger services launched on Sept. 30, 2026, connecting Dubai with Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. The Dubai–Abu Dhabi trip takes about an hour, with Comfort Class fares starting at Dh39. Passengers can add an RTA nol day pass when booking eligible trips for unlimited Metro, Tram and bus travel during the pass's validity.
Time Out Dubai reports this is the first phase of the national railway's passenger service, with 10 stations across the UAE due to open by the end of March next year; the RTA has also said four more stations will open in Dubai in the coming years.
