Hong Kong Cyberport venture forum opens as start-up funding passes HK$74.5 billion

The annual Cyberport Venture & Capital Forum 2026 (CVCF) officially opened on November 4 at Hong Kong Cyberport, running for two days under the theme "Scaling in a Changing World: Winning the Next Competitive Cycle." The forum brings together more than 80 global venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and industry leaders to explore global venture trends, capital rerouting, Enterprise and Agentic AI, One-Person Companies, digital assets, frontier technologies and the tokenisation economy.

Opening guests and community results

The forum was inaugurated by Lillian Cheong, Acting Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, and Simon Chan, Chairman of Cyberport, among other guests. Cyberport said its community now gathers more than 2,400 companies, whose start-ups have raised more than HK$74.5 billion in cumulative funding; over the past year the community added 19 listed companies and 2 unicorns. The Cyberport Investors Network (CIN) marked its 9th anniversary, having facilitated more than HK$6 billion in cumulative funding.

Two MoUs: Gobi Partners and Thailand's National Innovation Agency

At the forum, Cyberport signed memorandums of understanding with Gobi Partners and with Thailand's National Innovation Agency (NIA), deepening collaboration in nurturing innovation and technology enterprises and consolidating cross-border expansion corridors. Cyberport is wholly owned by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and positions itself as Hong Kong's digital technology hub and AI accelerator.
