Canon announced on November 4 two accessories for creators and photographers: the multi-function shoe digital microphone DM-E10D and the TC-N3/TC-E3 timer remote controllers.

Canon announced two new accessories on November 4: the DM-E10D digital microphone and the TC-N3 and TC-E3 timer remote controllers, aimed at video creators and at long-exposure and time-lapse photographers.

The two products

The DM-E10D connects through Canon's multi-function shoe, so it needs no cable and no separate battery: the camera powers it and carries the digital audio. Canon calls it its smallest hot-shoe microphone, about 53.7 mm long and about 59 g, with a supercardioid pickup pattern and a dedicated menu button for adjusting the camera's sound-recording settings. It is designed for single-person recording where the speaker talks directly to the camera, such as live streaming and vlogging.

The TC-N3 and TC-E3 succeed the TC-80N3, first released in 1998. They differ only in connector: the TC-N3 fits the N3 terminal on professional bodies, while the TC-E3 uses a 2.5 mm jack for enthusiast and consumer EOS R bodies including the EOS R6, R7, R8, R10 and R50 lines. The new remotes add a larger orange-backlit LCD, cross-key controls and a built-in real-time clock, and can be programmed with start and end times, shooting intervals and long-exposure durations for star trails and time-lapse work.

Prices and availability

In the United States, the DM-E10D is priced at $209.99 and ships in late December; the TC-N3 is $189.99 and the TC-E3 is $209.99, shipping in early January 2027. Canon's UK release lists December availability without UK prices; prices and arrival dates may vary by market.
