Meta announced on November 6 that specialized models trained using its flagship Muse Wonder will bring Active Memory and Active Focus to all Muse and Meta AI users; by Meta's own evaluations, the chance of forgetting critical information falls 2.4-fold.

Meta announced on November 6 that it is rolling out specialized models trained using its flagship Muse Wonder system to all users of its personal AI assistant Muse and Meta AI, bringing two capabilities — Active Memory and Active Focus. Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the update the same day on X.

Active Memory: remembering what matters, knowing what is stale

According to Meta AI Research, Active Memory lets the assistants retain important information across conversations and retrieve it when a topic becomes relevant again. The models are also trained to distinguish long-lasting preferences from temporary notes and to judge whether older context has gone stale. In Meta's own evaluations, the new model raised correct use of critical context from 76% to 90%, making it 2.4 times less likely to forget critical information.

Active Focus: when a task hits a snag, keep going

Active Focus targets multi-step tasks that run into trouble: when a tool call fails, information is missing or conditions change, the model self-corrects, retries or finds an alternative and keeps working toward the goal instead of stalling or drifting off task. Meta says the new model is 67% better at self-correcting and completing everyday tasks.

All figures come from Meta's own evaluations

The figures all come from Meta's own tests, including its Personal Superintelligence Index rising from 38% to 47%; none has been independently verified. Meta has not published the task samples or the before-and-after success rates behind the 67% task-completion claim. The numbers reflect progress on Meta's internal benchmarks, not a guarantee that every user's experience will improve by the same amount.

Wonder itself stays behind a paywall; free users get the distilled version

Muse Wonder, the flagship model family Meta introduced on October 12, remains available only to paying subscribers. What is rolling out now is not Wonder itself but specialized, lighter models distilled from Wonder as a teacher model, offered to all Muse and Meta AI users. Free users can therefore use some of Wonder's capabilities without paying, while the full frontier model stays behind the paywall. Muse also launched in Mexico on November 5.
