· N GLOBE

Singapore's National Environment Agency announced on November 5 that most haze mitigation measures will end on Saturday, November 7: N95 mask distribution and air-conditioned haze shelters close that day, and the haze subsidy scheme ends on November 12.

Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) announced on November 5 that most haze mitigation measures will end on Saturday, November 7, as air quality improves. The haze episode has lasted more than seven weeks since September 4; the agency cited inter-monsoon conditions, more rain and fewer regional hotspots, with the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) forecast for November 6 in the moderate range (51–80). Mask distribution and shelters close on the evening of November 7

Distribution of N95 (or equivalent) masks through community clubs and vending machines will end at 6 p.m. on November 7, and air-conditioned haze shelters at community clubs and residents' committee centres will close at the same time. The daily 24-hour PSI forecast, issued every evening for more than two months, also ends that day, with a final haze situation update on November 7.

Subsidy scheme ends November 12; more than 160,000 clinic visits

The Haze Subsidy Scheme and the Public Health Preparedness Clinic scheme will be deactivated from November 12, with November 11 the last day for subsidised treatment. As of October 31, there had been more than 160,000 haze-related clinic visits — over 100,000 at general practitioner clinics and over 60,000 at polyclinics. The 28-agency inter-agency Haze Task Force will stand down, and the Ministry of Manpower's precautions for outdoor workers will be lifted from November 7.
