· N GLOBE

Several road and transit disruptions affect Toronto this weekend: the Yonge Street on-ramp to westbound Highway 401 closes fully from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday, and 505/305 Dundas streetcars divert from 11 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Monday, with replacement buses running.

Toronto drivers and transit riders should allow extra time this weekend, with several roads closed or diverted for construction and maintenance. The Yonge Street on-ramp to westbound Highway 401 will close completely from 10 p.m. on Friday, November 6, until 5 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, for an engineering investigation.

Dundas streetcars diverted from tonight, with replacement buses

Concrete repairs along Dundas Street West will divert 505/305 Dundas streetcars via College Street and Spadina Avenue from 11 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Monday, November 9. Replacement buses will operate between Dundas West Station and the Spadina Avenue–College Street area. The transit notice does not establish that the entire street is closed to vehicles.

Other closures and restrictions

In the west end, the Park Lawn Road on-ramp to the westbound Gardiner Expressway remains closed for rehabilitation, with the City expecting it to reopen in December 2026. On southbound Highway 404 between Sheppard Avenue and Highway 401, a left-lane restriction affecting the HOV lane is in place during overnight work running through November 19. Road closures within the Exhibition Grounds for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair also affect access, with the 29 Dufferin bus operating only as far south as the Dufferin Gate loop until 6 a.m. on November 16.

Some overnight restrictions end early Friday

Some overnight restrictions were scheduled to finish early Friday, including the westbound Highway 401 on-ramp closure at Kingston Road and an eastbound Highway 401 off-ramp lane restriction at Eglinton Avenue, both listed to end at 6 a.m. Construction schedules may change, and collisions or emergency repairs can create additional disruptions. Check Ontario 511 and City of Toronto updates before leaving.
