Canadian building permits fall 17.3% in July; Ontario down 25.2%
Statistics Canada's September 16 release puts national permit value at C$12.2 billion and Ontario's at C$4.6 billion.

The national value of building permits fell C$2.6 billion, or 17.3%, from June. Ontario's value dropped 25.2% to C$4.6 billion.[1][2]
Non-residential permits led the national decline, falling C$1.9 billion to C$5.0 billion. Residential permits also decreased, to C$7.2 billion.[1]
These figures concern July construction intentions, not September home prices or completed housing.
