Updated September 15: Reporting by several outlets and footage circulating online establish that a knife attack occurred in the commercial area of Guangzhou University Town on September 14. Panyu police said they received a report at about 5:20 p.m. concerning a man with a knife outside a hot-pot restaurant on Xiaoguwei Street, arrested a 35-year-old man surnamed Li and sent the injured to hospital. The time, identity and medical assessment in that statement remain official claims pending independent confirmation from hospitals, victims or court records.

Taiwan's Central News Agency said at least three injured people could be seen in publicly circulated material. Police did not release a number, so N Globe is not treating three as a final count.
