Four killed and seven injured in shopping-centre fire in Sterlitamak, Russia

The Bashkortostan directorate of Russia's Emergencies Ministry said it received the alarm at about 13:26 local time on September 22 for a fire in a four-storey brick commercial and service complex at 70 Kommunisticheskaya Street in Sterlitamak. The initial response involved 47 personnel and 16 vehicles, including 26 ministry staff and eight ministry vehicles.

The ministry's first report confirmed that 17 people, including one child, had been evacuated and said there were casualties. Regional emergency services later told media that four people had died and seven were injured.
