Large Russian missile and drone attack hits Kyiv and other Ukrainian regions, injuring more than twenty

Russia launched a large missile and drone attack on Kyiv and several other Ukrainian cities overnight on September 16–17.

A later Reuters tally reported 18 people injured in Kyiv, six in Odesa and three in Zaporizhzhia, taking the total above twenty. AP had earlier confirmed at least 19 injured, including a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy. The figures were published at different stages of the emergency response and are not final.

Ukrainian officials reported damage at more than ten sites in the capital and at 33 locations across the Kyiv region. Energy infrastructure was also damaged in Sumy and Odesa, along with residential buildings.

Ukraine's air force said Russia used ballistic and cruise missiles, nearly 160 drones and decoys, and that 131 aerial threats were intercepted or suppressed. N Globe has not independently verified that military tally.

Russia's Defence Ministry said the strikes targeted military-industrial facilities and vessels supplying Ukrainian forces through Black Sea ports. N Globe could not independently verify that claim; the confirmed public impact includes civilian injuries and damage to homes and energy infrastructure.
