Saudi cities briefly receive security alerts before Civil Defence issues all-clear

Saudi Civil Defence used the national early-warning system to warn of potential danger in several areas. Reuters reported alerts in western cities including Mecca, Jeddah and Taif; Civil Defence later announced an all-clear for Jeddah, Abha, Jazan, AlUla, Taif and Yanbu.

Saudi authorities did not immediately say whether any missile or drone landed, and they reported no casualty or property-damage total from this round of alerts. The warning and all-clear are confirmed; they do not establish that a weapon struck any particular city.

The alerts came as Yemen's Houthi forces increased attacks on Saudi cities and energy infrastructure while advancing along Yemen's Red Sea coast. A Saudi-led coalition said the previous day's attacks injured 13 civilians, while the Houthis claimed an attack on an air base. Claims by belligerents about targets and effects still require independent verification.

Yanbu is one of Saudi Arabia's principal Red Sea oil-export ports. The potential threat added uncertainty for flights, ports and energy transport, but the all-clear means this report is not labelled as an ongoing immediate breaking alert. Anyone receiving a new official warning should shelter and follow local instructions.
