Dubai's DIFC opens its innovation ecosystem to 6,000 Japanese startups as AI and fintech firms pass 2,000

Announced November 3 during the inaugural Dubai Future Finance Week, the partnership gives up to 6,000 Japanese startups direct access to the Dubai International Financial Centre's ecosystem, alongside plans for a Dubai FinTech Stack.
Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) announced a new partnership on November 3 giving up to 6,000 Japanese startups direct access to its innovation ecosystem, opening opportunities for collaboration, investment and international expansion. The announcement came on the second day of the inaugural Dubai Future Finance Week, during the Dubai FinTech Summit, as DIFC also revealed that the number of artificial intelligence, fintech and innovation companies in its ecosystem had passed 2,000.
Two new initiatives
Arif Amiri, chief executive of the DIFC Authority, said in his keynote address that passing 2,000 companies was a significant milestone: DIFC set out its vision to drive the future of finance in 2016 and launched its FinTech Accelerator in 2017 with just 11 startups, and has since grown into an ecosystem bringing together innovative businesses, financial institutions, investors and specialist talent. He said the new partnership would strengthen connections between international markets and support DIFC's efforts to build economic corridors linking emerging markets and countries across the Global South.
DIFC also plans to launch the Dubai FinTech Stack, an integrated infrastructure giving startups essential capabilities covering customer onboarding, payments, risk management, financial security and artificial intelligence integration, to simplify operations and speed up the development and commercial expansion of financial innovations.
Report outlook
The summit also saw the launch of the Digital Economy 2.0 report, developed by DIFC with research partner Asia House: it projects the global fintech market will reach US$1.5 trillion by 2030, global technology spending will reach US$5.6 trillion in 2026, and artificial intelligence will contribute US$22.3 trillion to the global economy by 2030. Dubai Future Finance Week runs until November 6 under the directives and patronage of Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and President of DIFC, supporting the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to place Dubai among the world's top four global financial centres.
