Paris approves November 7 protest route from République to Nation; Yellow Vests plan separate Concorde rally

The Paris police prefecture has approved the unions' route for Saturday's fourth day of action against the cost of living: a 2 p.m. march from Place de la République to Place de la Nation. The Yellow Vests have separately called a rally at Place de la Concorde.
The Paris police prefecture has approved the route filed by the inter-union coalition for the fourth day of action against the rising cost of living: on Saturday, November 7, the march will set off at 2 p.m. from Place de la République and head to Place de la Nation along Boulevard Voltaire, passing through the 3rd, 10th, 11th and 12th arrondissements.
Same route as the November 5 strike day
The route is exactly the same as the one used for the interprofessional strike on Thursday, November 5, which the prefecture itself had proposed to the unions. Since looting on the sidelines of the October 17 demonstration, the prefecture had pushed marches to the far east of Paris: on October 24 unions were confined to the stretch between Porte d'Italie and Porte de Vincennes, and on October 31 the march ran between Porte de Bagnolet and Porte de Charenton after a legal battle that went to the Council of State. For November 5, the unions again went to court; the Paris Administrative Court rejected their appeal on Wednesday evening, upholding the République–Nation route. This time the unions filed the same route, and the prefecture accepted it unchanged.
No decision yet on the Yellow Vests rally at Concorde
A second gathering is planned the same day: the Yellow Vests coordination group has called on supporters to meet at 2 p.m. at Place de la Concorde, in the 8th arrondissement, for its Act IV, inviting demonstrators from across France to join them in Paris. As of publication, the prefecture has made no decision public on this gathering; the organisers say they will maintain the call even if it is banned, and people with no reason to be there are advised to avoid the Concorde area on Saturday afternoon and to watch for prefecture announcements.
Metro stations may close again; Line 6 shut all day Sunday
No list of station closures has been announced for Saturday. On November 5, RATP closed 25 metro stations at the prefecture's request, mainly on Line 9 beneath Boulevard Voltaire (Oberkampf, Saint-Ambroise, Voltaire, Charonne and Rue des Boulets) and Richard-Lenoir on Line 5, while République and Nation stayed open; a similar pattern is possible on Saturday. Separately, Metro Line 6 will be closed all day on Sunday, November 8, for engineering work, unrelated to the march.
