Sydney's Campsie to get 33-storey apartment tower as UAE developer Arada wins first Australian approval

· N GLOBE

Arada has received NSW planning approval for London Place, a 33-storey, 156-apartment tower in Campsie, Sydney — its first Australian approval since entering the country in 2024. Construction targets Q2 2027, completion Q4 2029.

Why it matters

It is the first Australian planning approval for UAE-based developer Arada, which entered the country in 2024 and has since assembled a pipeline of more than 6,000 homes. The green light also shows how fast the NSW fast-track pathway can move: recognized as a State Significant Development, London Place won approval in under four months, well within the Housing Delivery Authority's 275-day benchmark.

Full report

Arada announced on October 7, 2026 that it has received approval from the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for London Place, a 33-floor residential development in the heart of Campsie, in Sydney's inner south-west.

Designed by Woods Bagot, the tower will comprise 156 apartments across 33 floors, with 18 designated as affordable housing. The unit mix spans two-, three- and four-bedroom residences, including sub-penthouse and penthouse homes on the upper floors. Amenities include a lounge, private dining room, music room and gym, plus a covered BBQ terrace, lap pool, spa, sauna and outdoor seating areas.

With a gross development value of AED 560 million, construction is targeted to commence in the second quarter of 2027, with completion expected by the fourth quarter of 2029.

Background

London Place is the first of five projects Arada is planning for Sydney's inner-southwest region. Campsie is undergoing major urban renewal anchored by the imminent opening of Campsie Metro Station; Arada says the tower's residents will reach Sydney's CBD by metro in under 20 minutes.

Globally, Arada reports a project pipeline valued at AED 171 billion and a portfolio of more than 70,000 homes across the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Australia and Syria.
