TC Energy (TSX/NYSE: TRP) announced on October 13 that it has closed an agreement with FN CGL Pipeline Limited Partnership, an Indigenous-led investment entity representing five First Nations along the Coastal GasLink (CGL) corridor.

The Haisla Nation, Halfway River First Nation, McLeod Lake Indian Band, Saulteau First Nations and West Moberly First Nations will obtain an economic interest in the entity that holds TC Energy's limited partner interest in CGL, and are expected to benefit from long-term, predictable financial returns.

This is the first of two planned Indigenous investment transactions related to CGL; a second transaction involving additional First Nations is expected to close in Q4 2026.

TC Energy President and CEO François Poirier said the agreement turns years of partnership into long-term economic opportunity and shared prosperity, reflecting the company's commitment to advancing Indigenous economic participation by providing opportunities for communities to generate predictable income and invest in their own priorities.
