Federal government announces $175M for 12 clean energy projects in Alberta

Ottawa awards more than $175 million through NRCan's SREPs program for 12 wind, solar and microgrid projects in Alberta, announced alongside federal ministers and Indigenous partners.
Why it matters
The funding is one of the largest federal clean-energy commitments to Alberta this year, covering wind, solar and microgrid projects that will feed power into the provincial grid and Indigenous communities. It also signals Ottawa is pressing ahead with renewables investment in a province better known for oil and gas.
