Ottawa pledges $66.3M for 162 home energy retrofit and affordable housing projects across Canada

Federal Environment Minister Julie Dabrusin announced at 11:00 a.m. EDT on Oct. 2 in Ajax, Ontario (655 Harwood Avenue South) that Ottawa will provide about $66.3 million for 162 home energy efficiency retrofit and sustainable affordable housing projects across the country. She was joined by Parliamentary Secretary Jennifer McKelvie and representatives of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM).
According to the official backgrounder, the total is $66,278,761: $31,682,805 for Sustainable Affordable Housing (SAH) projects and $34,595,956 for Community Efficiency Financing (CEF) projects. The 162 projects break down as: 12 in Atlantic Canada, 36 in Quebec, 39 in Ontario, 36 in the Prairies, 38 in B.C. and 1 in Nunavut.
