Canada's Leylah Fernandez was ousted from the China Open women's tennis tournament on Saturday, falling in the second round to Kamilla Rakhimova of Uzbekistan in three sets in Beijing.
The 24-year-old was eliminated after a three-set loss, according to The Canadian Press, cutting short her campaign at the tournament one week after she lifted her sixth WTA career title.
Fernandez's defeat was confirmed in a report posted Saturday morning by the Brandon Sun, which said she was ousted "with a three-set loss to Kamilla Rakhimova of Uzbekistan on Saturday."
