"When you turn on the TV or boot up the game console and engage with the Indigenous and Canadian works the CMF is so proud to invest in, our impact is immediately clear," said Valerie Creighton, President and CEO of the CMF. "But you can also trace our contributions through local economies: a documentary crew filling up a small hotel in the Yukon, a filming gear supplier investing in new equipment in St. John's, a Calgary caterer keeping the set outside of town fed."
The CMF's Industry Development programs invested $6.7 million to create opportunities for creators and drive growth in Canada's regions, Indigenous and Equity-Deserving Communities.
