Full report
Saturday's UFC Fight Night at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, headlined a welterweight bout between No. 8 Joaquin Buckley and No. 11 Mike Malott. After a competitive feeling-out first round, Malott caught Buckley pressing forward early in the second with a knee to the head; the official stoppage came at 2:32 of round two.
UFC's official report lists the finish as KO (knee). Both men weighed 170.5 lbs on Friday. At the ceremonial weigh-ins, Buckley walked past Dana White's outstretched hand; White joked afterward: "As soon as he lost, I told Hunter, cut him. I'm joking."
In the co-main event, Canada's Jasmine Jasudavicius out-worked Erin Blanchfield for a unanimous decision at flyweight. The card tied the UFC record for most consecutive stoppages to open an event — the first 11 bouts finished inside the distance, and 12 of 13 never reached the judges.
Malott, Mandel Nallo, Joel Faglier and Marc-Andre Barriault each earned $100,000 Performance of the Night bonuses; Barriault stopped Kyle Daukaus by TKO (elbows) at 4:28 of round one, and Cristian Perez knocked out Kyle Nelson in 27 seconds.
