BEIJING, Oct 3 (Xinhua) — China's Ministry of Commerce announced on Saturday an anti-dumping investigation into p-Nitrotoluene imported from the EU, following applications from domestic producers Jiangsu Huaihe Chemical and Hubei Dongfang Chemical. Preliminary evidence shows EU imports stayed at high volumes in 2022–2025 while prices fell nearly 60% cumulatively, injuring the domestic industry.
Reuters reported the probe is expected to conclude by Oct 3, 2027 (extendable by six months). P-Nitrotoluene is used in dyes, pigments, pesticides and pharmaceuticals; China is a major producer and exporter.
MOFCOM also noted the EU has launched 28 trade-remedy investigations against China since 2025, about half involving chemicals, including consecutive recent probes into PVC.
