The Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2026 takes place this Sunday. The Open 10K start moves to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium with a 7:35 AM flag-off; Delhi Metro will start early at 3:30 AM on race day, free for runners with QR-code wristbands.

Why it matters

The Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2026 will go ahead on Sunday, October 18. Organizers announced a route change: the Open 10K category will now start from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JLN Stadium) instead of Sansad Marg, with the flag-off at 7:35 AM. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will run early services on race day to get runners to the start.

According to DMRC, from 3:30 AM on October 18, four lines — Red, Yellow, Blue and Violet — will start early: every 15 minutes from 3:30 to 4:15 AM, then every 20 minutes from 4:15 to 6:00 AM, before reverting to the normal Sunday schedule. Runners with QR-code wristbands can ride the metro free of charge on both legs.

Full report

The announcements were issued by DMRC and the organizers on October 14. With several city roads under traffic restrictions during the race, spectators are advised to use the metro and allow extra time.

The Delhi Half Marathon is one of India's flagship road races, drawing tens of thousands of runners each year. The route change and early metro services are expected to ease pressure on the city's transport network on race morning.
