Announced Oct 22 in Dubai: the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives pledges AED150 million to 11 UAE charitable and humanitarian organisations; Crown Prince Hamdan attended the signing.

Why it matters

MBRGI's biggest domestic charitable allocation this year: AED150 million (about US$41 million) flows directly to 11 charitable and humanitarian organisations, spanning Gaza relief, healthcare, food banks and education — reinforcing the UAE's positioning as a global capital of humanitarian action.

What was announced

On October 22, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) announced AED150 million in funding for UAE-based charitable and humanitarian organisations. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum — Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of MBRGI's Board of Trustees — attended and witnessed the signing of 11 partnership agreements, joined by Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and MBRGI Secretary-General.

Where the money goes

The 11 signatories: Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 (the UAE's 2023 relief programme for Gaza), Tarahum Charity Foundation, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Establishment, Emirates Health Services, the UAE Food Bank, Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society, Al Jalila Foundation, Fujairah Charity Association, Noor Dubai and the Digital School. Sheikh Hamdan said the allocation builds on MBRGI's role in the country's humanitarian landscape since its establishment in 2015. MBRGI consolidates more than 30 initiatives; in 2025 it committed over AED2.3 billion, reaching about 165 million people across 122 countries.
