Dubai RTA Upgrades Mahboub Chatbot With Agentic AI: Pay Fines and Renew Registration in One Chat

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority is upgrading its virtual assistant Mahboub so fines, registration renewals and more can be completed in a single conversation.
Why it matters
This brings agentic AI to the front desk of Dubai's government services: the system automatically activates multiple specialized AI assistants based on the customer's request, chaining related procedures into one flow — pay vehicle fines, then renew the registration right away, without leaving the chat. Previously Mahboub could only answer questions and handle single transactions.
Full report
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Oct 22 that it is upgrading its virtual assistant Mahboub. The first integrated services covered are vehicle registration renewal, fine payment, clearance certificate issuance, and plate number reservation renewal.
Identity verification runs through the UAE PASS digital ID and payments through the Dubai Sadad platform. The assistant supports Arabic and English, with language models fine-tuned for the local context. The upgrade is part of the RTA's AI Strategy 2030.
RTA says the enhanced Mahboub is "prepared for public rollout," though no launch date or additional fees have been announced. The UAE's national news agency WAM covered the upgrade on Oct 23.
