The RTA announced on X on Oct. 21 that it and Dubai Police have revised maximum speed limits on five major roads across the emirate. The changes take effect Sunday, Nov. 1, and apply in both directions.
Higher limits: Al Asayel Street rises from 60 to 80 km/h (between Oud Maitha Street and Al Meydan Street); Al Mustaqbal Street rises from 60 to 70 km/h (between Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Meydan Street); Latifa bint Hamdan Street rises from 60 to 70 km/h (between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road).
Lower limits: Al Rebat Street drops from 100 to 90 km/h (between Marrakech Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road); Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street drops from 80 to 70 km/h (between 2nd December Street and Khalid bin Al Waleed Street).
The RTA says the adjustment follows an engineering assessment of traffic volume, road design speeds and urban development, aiming to improve traffic flow efficiency and road safety.
