HKMA hosts Cargox Solution Day, signs MoU to advance regional trade-data connectivity

The HKMA hosted Cargox Solution Day and signed an MoU with the PAA Digital Trade Alliance to advance regional cargo and trade-data connectivity.
Why it matters
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority hosted its Cargox Solution Day today (October 5), themed "from local to regional trade data connectivity", drawing more than 300 participants from banks, cargo companies, trade-data providers and government agencies. The HKMA signed a memorandum of understanding with the PAA Digital Trade Alliance (PAA1) to pursue joint innovation projects on cargo and trade-data connectivity between Hong Kong and PAA member economies.
What the MoU does
The agreement aims to catalyse the digitalisation of regional trade finance by strengthening data connections with Hong Kong's key trading partners, including mainland China and ASEAN economies. The event also focused on linking the HKMA's Commercial Data Interchange (CDI) with the government's cargo trade-data platform.
