Hong Kong opens enrolment for Huanggang Port's joint automated channels

Enrolment opens for Huanggang Port's joint automated channels: one queue, one ID check for both Hong Kong and Shenzhen clearance.
Why it matters
Cross-border commuters will soon clear both Hong Kong and Shenzhen immigration in a single queue — and eligible residents can sign up for the new automated channel from today.
Full report
Eligible Hong Kong residents can now enrol for the "collaborative inspection" automated channel service at the redeveloped Huanggang Port via the Immigration Department's "HK e-Channel" mobile app.
The redeveloped port, expected to open this quarter, will operate 134 "collaborative inspection" automated channels alongside 68 traditional manual counters. Under the co-location arrangement, enrolled passengers queue once and present their identity documents once to complete immigration clearance for both Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
Eligibility: Hong Kong residents aged seven or above who have registered for the Mainland's e-Channel and hold a Hong Kong permanent identity card with a Home Visit Permit (or the Non-Chinese Citizens travel permit); or holders of a Hong Kong identity card with an Exit-Entry Permit for travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao bearing a valid endorsement.
