Madhya Pradesh semiconductor summit opens with ₹5,800 crore in investment proposals, 10,000+ jobs expected
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav opened the two-day Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Summit 2026 in Indore on Oct 23; more than 12 companies proposed investments totalling about ₹5,800 crore, while five more received land-allotment letters of intent for ₹9,625 crore in projects.
Why it matters
India is pushing hard to build a domestic semiconductor supply chain. Madhya Pradesh landing proposals from more than a dozen companies plus five land allotments in one go is the state's biggest semiconductor investment haul to date — and a sign that competition among Indian states for chip manufacturing and packaging is heating up.
Full report
The summit opened on Oct 23 at the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore and runs for two days, with more than 1,000 delegates attending, including delegations from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Sweden.
On the investment side, more than 12 companies proposed new investments totalling about ₹5,800 crore (roughly US$613 million), expected to create over 10,000 jobs. The largest proposals came from Una Ecosystems (₹2,000 crore), Spintronics AI Semiconductors (₹1,800 crore) and Lalwala Industries (₹1,200 crore).
On land allotment, five companies received letters of intent for projects worth ₹9,625 crore, expected to bring more than 4,450 direct jobs across Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior — led by Cytech RE's ₹6,415-crore hyperscale data centre at Ganga Malanpur, Gwalior.
Yadav also announced a semiconductor Centre of Excellence and a photonics/quantum technology Centre of Excellence; the state's electronics development corporation signed MoUs with five institutions including SEMI India, the Semiconductor Laboratory in Mohali and the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India.
