The Lagos State Pension Commission has directed Defined Benefit Scheme pensioners to complete an online verification exercise between October 26 and November 25, 2026, to update records and confirm eligibility; the exercise is strictly online, with no office visit required.

The Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) has directed eligible pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) to complete an online verification exercise between October 26 and November 25, 2026. LASPEC Director-General Babalola Obilana urged all affected pensioners to complete the process within the stipulated period, according to a notice reported by PM News on Saturday.

Who is covered

The exercise covers retired heads of service and permanent secretaries, as well as pensioners under the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the Civil Service Pension Office (CSPO). The commission said the exercise is aimed at updating pensioners' records and confirming their eligibility under the Defined Benefit Scheme, also known as the Pay-As-You-Go system.

Strictly online, three portals

LASPEC stressed that the exercise will be conducted exclusively online, advising pensioners against visiting its office to complete the process. Retired heads of service and permanent secretaries are to use verify.laspec.gov.ng, while TESCOM pensioners should visit verify.tescomlagos.ng and those under the Civil Service Pension Office should use verify.cspo.ng.

Participants must first complete a two-step login validation using their Oracle number and surname. After logging in, they are required to select the self-service option and follow the on-screen instructions, enable their device cameras to take photographs for identity confirmation, provide their Bank Verification Number (BVN) or National Identification Number (NIN), and update their personal information and next-of-kin details before submitting their records.

LASPEC urged pensioners to ensure that all required information is accurate and submitted before the November 25 deadline. This is a Lagos State exercise; it is separate from the federal National Pension Commission (PenCom) verification for federal civil servants, and state pensioners should use the state commission's portals.
