LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division announced the arrests in a burglary series hitting Tarzana, Woodland Hills and Downey since February; radios, masks, Wi-Fi jammers and weapons were seized.

Why it matters

A burglary spree that has rattled San Fernando Valley residents for most of this year is now broken: the suspects specialized in smashing rear sliding glass doors and even carried Wi-Fi jammers to defeat wireless alarms — a professional operation. Police believe there are more unreported victims and have released booking photos asking for identifications — residents of Tarzana and Woodland Hills should check whether anything is missing from their homes.

The case

The LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division announced the arrest of five men suspected in a string of residential burglaries in Tarzana, Woodland Hills and Downey dating back to February 2026. The suspects forced entry by smashing open rear sliding glass doors, ransacked the homes, and took jewelry, designer purses, glasses and clothing.

Searches turned up burglary tools and evidence including hand-held radios, masks, gloves, Wi-Fi jammers, two vehicles, and a cache of weapons and ammunition. The suspects were identified as Manuel Nava, 21, of Hawthorne; Michael Lewis, 22, of Inglewood; Brett Bailey, 18; Elijah Smith, 18; and Tonice Davis, 32 — all Los Angeles residents. Nava and Lewis were booked on suspicion of burglary with bail set at $165,000 and $150,000 respectively; the other three were booked on suspicion of attempted burglary with bail from $50,000 to $90,000. KTLA released new surveillance video of the suspects on Wednesday afternoon.
