The Los Angeles Office of the City Clerk launched a new Legislative Management System (LMS) on October 26 at LMS.LACITY.GOV, replacing the retiring Council File Management System (CFMS).
What the new system brings together
The centralized platform brings the City Clerk's tools into a single interface, without redirecting users to external portals. Integrated features include the existing council file database, council and committee agenda databases, a public comment portal, and agenda subscription options.
The city says the goal is to make it easier for Angelenos to access information about the City Council, follow legislation, and take part in local government. In the city's words: 'Search. Follow. Participate. Stay informed.'
What happens next
The LMS went live on Monday, October 26, and the old Council File Management System will be retired. Residents can now go directly to LMS.LACITY.GOV to look up council files and agendas, submit public comments, or subscribe to agenda notices.
