Los Angeles Metro D Line: Three Stations Closed Oct. 23–Nov. 1, Shuttle Buses Replace Trains

Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega are closed while crews install permanent electrical equipment at Wilshire/La Brea; D Line trains run only to Wilshire/Western, with Line 855 shuttles every 10 minutes.
Why it matters
Three new D Line stations are closed for ten days, forcing Wilshire Boulevard riders onto shuttle buses this weekend: the stations only opened in May, and the closure finishes work that was already scheduled when they opened — swapping temporary electrical gear for permanent equipment.
Full report
According to LA Metro's official blog The Source, Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega closed at 2 a.m. on October 23 and are scheduled to reopen at 4 a.m. on November 2 — a closure running October 23 through November 1.
The reason is the installation of permanent electrical equipment at Wilshire/La Brea Station. Metro says temporary equipment was installed so the three stations could open in May; this work requires shutting off power to the entire station, so all three stops close together. Crews will also use the window to connect systems and advance the next D Line extension toward Beverly Hills and Century City.
For getting around: D Line trains run only between Union Station and Wilshire/Western during the closure; Line 855 shuttle buses connect Wilshire/Western with all three closed stations about every 10 minutes; Metro Bus Lines 20 and 720 keep their normal service along Wilshire Boulevard. Metro advises riders to allow extra travel time, including for trips to the Miracle Mile museum area.
