Warning area and timing

According to the Mayor's Office, the Red Flag Warning covers the Santa Clarita Valley, the Western Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area, the Eastern Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area, the Santa Susana Mountains, the Western San Gabriel Mountains and the Highway 14 Corridor, due to moderate Santa Ana winds and low humidity. The Los Angeles Fire Department has also issued a Red Flag Alert, with special Red Flag parking restrictions in effect from 6 a.m. Saturday.

Fire department prepositions crews and equipment

Mayor Bass directed the LAFD to strategically preposition personnel and equipment at fire stations across the city from 6 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Sunday, so crews can respond quickly to any fire. The Mayor's Office urged residents to sign up for emergency alerts at NotifyLA.org and for LAFD notifications at lafd.org/alerts.
