Caufield's two power-play goals made it 4-0

The Canadiens had looked unstoppable. Cole Caufield scored twice on the power play, his second coming 46 seconds into the third period to make it 4-0. The team was riding a five-game winning streak, and the home crowd was ready to celebrate a sixth straight win.

Two Connor goals in the final minute, Samberg wins it in overtime

But the Jets mounted an extraordinary rally, with Kyle Connor scoring twice in the last minute of regulation to complete a four-goal comeback in a little over two minutes. In overtime, Jets defenceman Dylan Samberg fired home the winner at 3:30 to seal the historic victory.

Win streak over, point streak reaches eight games

Despite the embarrassing defeat, the Canadiens extended their point streak to eight games (6-0-2). They will try to bounce back on Thursday night when they host the Utah Mammoth to finish a three-game home stand. The teams' two-game season series concludes on November 30 in Salt Lake City; Montreal has won the past three meetings.
