On Friday, October 2, 2026, at about 12:25 p.m., several suspects drove a vehicle into a jewelry store on Saint-Charles Boulevard near Brunswick Boulevard in Kirkland, on Montreal's West Island, forcing their way in before fleeing the area, according to Montreal police.
One customer was hurt during the robbery. Police said the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The suspects had already left the scene when officers arrived, and no arrests have been reported. Police have not released details about what may have been taken or its estimated value.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) is investigating. On the same day, Montreal police told Global News that jewelry store thefts are frequently committed by young people recruited to carry out robberies, in some cases as young as 13.
