New York names Forest Hills corner 'Spider-Man Way' in tribute to Queens' own Peter Parker

City leaders unveiled the honorary co-naming of an Ingram Street segment as 'Spider-Man Way' in Forest Hills, Queens, on Monday — steps from the 20 Ingram St. home linked to Spider-Man's alter ego. The designation changes no postal addresses.
Why it matters
Spider-Man is officially on the map. New York City held a public ceremony on Oct. 12 to name the corner of Ingram Street and Ascan Avenue in Forest Hills 'Spider-Man Way,' honoring the comic hero's deep ties to Queens.
Full report
The ceremony took place steps from 20 Ingram St., the address identified in a 1989 comic as Peter Parker's home. The homeowner, Jack Shi, says he welcomes fans who come to see the famous location.
Attendees included Council Member Lynn Schulman, who introduced the legislation, Council Speaker Julie Menin, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng, and representatives from Marvel and Disney. Dozens of fans gathered on the Columbus Day holiday, some dressed as Spider-Man.
Officials said the designation is honorary and does not change any postal addresses; it is meant to celebrate local culture, boost neighborhood pride, and support filming and related jobs.
