The 10th Ottawa Canadian Film Festival (OCan) opens today, November 6, in Ottawa, running for three days at the Mayfair Theatre in Old Ottawa South and the ByTowne Cinema at 325 Rideau Street.
Ten years on: 19 shorts, 2 features
This year's festival presents 19 Canadian short films and two features across genres. A decade in, it continues to spotlight homegrown work, including films by Ottawa-area directors. Screening times and tickets are available on the festival's website.
More on the same weekend
Ottawa has plenty more culture on this weekend: the ChromaQueer Film + Arts Festival runs November 6 to 8 at Arts Court, with talks, workshops and poetry karaoke, and the Ottawa Dog Film Festival opens on Sunday, November 8. The 613flea market also moves indoors for the first time tonight, with a Friday-night edition at the Horticulture Building in Lansdowne Park.
