Ottawa's municipal election advance voting starts today: vote at any of 10 sites through Sunday

Ottawa's 2026 municipal election Special Advance Voting Days run October 1–4, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily; electors may vote at any of 10 citywide sites regardless of ward.
Why it matters
This is the first in-person voting window ahead of election day on October 26, using an "anywhere voting" model that lets electors vote near home, work or school rather than only in their own ward.
The schedule
According to the City of Ottawa Elections Office (elections.ottawa.ca) and Ward 21 Councillor David Brown, Special Advance Voting Days run Thursday, October 1 through Sunday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Eligible electors may vote at any of the 10 voting places across the city regardless of their qualifying address, including City Hall (110 Laurier Ave. W.), the Nepean Sportsplex, the Richcraft Recreation Complex in Kanata and the Minto Recreation Complex in Barrhaven.
What to bring
Electors are encouraged to bring their voter notification letter, though it is not required. Those whose names are not on the voters' list, or who need to correct their information, can do so on site. Voters must present identification showing their name and Ottawa address (photo ID is not required); anyone unable to do so may make a statutory declaration. Mail-in ballots must reach the Elections Office by 8 p.m. on October 16; the next advance voting day is Friday, October 16, and election day is October 26.
