Ottawa–Aruba nonstop takes off today as Porter adds four sun routes for winter

Porter Airlines' nonstop service from Ottawa to Oranjestad, Aruba, begins today with three flights a week. Flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica, Providenciales in Turks and Caicos, and Los Cabos, Mexico, follow over the next six weeks, all flown by 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 jets.
Porter Airlines' nonstop service from Ottawa to Oranjestad, the capital of Aruba, begins today, opening the carrier's winter sun schedule from the National Capital Region. According to Porter, the Ottawa–Aruba route will operate three times a week at peak, and is the first of four new sun routes from Ottawa to launch this winter.

Four routes launch over six weeks
The other three routes follow over the next six weeks: Montego Bay, Jamaica, from November 25, twice a week (subject to regulatory approvals); Providenciales in Turks and Caicos from December 17, twice a week; and Los Cabos, Mexico, from December 18, twice a week. All four routes will be flown by 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Porter says it is the only airline offering nonstop service from Ottawa to Aruba, Los Cabos and Turks and Caicos. Aviation Week reports the additions lift Porter's flying from Ottawa to Mexico, the Caribbean and Costa Rica by more than 80% this winter.
Edmonton gets its first international routes too
Porter has also launched its first international service from Edmonton this winter, including Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, which began on November 3 with three weekly flights, and Phoenix, which began on November 6. Across the 2026–27 winter season, Porter's sun network totals more than 40 routes.
