Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning, released by Trafalgar Releasing and produced by Mercury Studios, opens in cinemas worldwide on October 28 for a limited run, revisiting the sold-out July 5, 2025 farewell show at Birmingham's Villa Park and the original lineup's first reunion in more than 20 years.

Heavy metal fans can relive a historic night on the big screen from today: the concert film Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning, capturing Ozzy Osbourne's final performance and Black Sabbath's original-lineup reunion, opens in cinemas worldwide on October 28 for a limited run.

The final night

The film documents the sold-out 'Back to the Beginning' farewell show at Villa Park stadium in Ozzy's hometown of Birmingham on July 5, 2025. The night featured a solo set from Ozzy alongside a reunion of Black Sabbath's original members — Ozzy on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass and Bill Ward on drums — performing together for the first time in more than 20 years.

According to the distributor, the performance was captured just 17 days before Ozzy's passing. Alongside the show itself, the film includes personal reflections from musicians he inspired and a behind-the-scenes look at the day.

From Los Angeles premiere to cinemas worldwide

Produced by Mercury Studios and released globally by Trafalgar Releasing, the film held its world premiere on October 14 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by the Osbourne family, before opening in cinemas worldwide on October 28. Tickets are available through the official event website, backtothebeginning.com.

Both Black Sabbath and Ozzy are Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and Grammy winners; the film gives their legacy a finale that audiences can experience together on the big screen. Screening dates and showtimes vary by cinema.
