Paris curfew extended through October 26: République, Les Halles restricted 11 p.m.–6 a.m.; U.S. Embassy issues security alert

Paris police prefecture extended the curfew to the nights of Oct 22–26; RATP closes five metro/RER stations from 10 p.m. tonight. The U.S. Embassy in Paris issued a security alert on Oct 22, warning of weekend protests and urging caution around Sunday's NFL game.
Why it matters
After the October 17 national mobilization against the high cost of living turned violent in Paris, Lyon and Marseille, three nights of curfew have been followed by an extension covering the October 24–25 protest weekend — a signal authorities do not yet see the unrest easing. The U.S. State Department updated its France travel advisory on October 21.
Full report
The Paris police prefecture announced on October 22 that the curfew around Place de la République and the Les Halles district is extended for the nights of October 22–26, 2026, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., applying to adults and minors alike. Exemptions cover residents who can prove their address, shopkeepers, people traveling to work in the area, and emergency public services.
RATP announced at the prefecture's request that from 10 p.m. tonight, trains will no longer stop at République (lines 3, 5, 9, 11), Châtelet (lines 1, 4, 7, 11, 14), Les Halles (line 4), Châtelet–Les Halles (RER A, B, D) and Trocadéro (lines 6, 9); line 11 is interrupted between Hôtel de Ville and Châtelet from 10 p.m., and RER B service to the northern branches is suspended from 10:45 p.m.
The U.S. Embassy in Paris issued a security alert on October 22, warning that violence and rioting tied to ongoing protests have recently occurred in France and may continue, and urging Americans to avoid demonstration areas. It specifically advised Americans in Paris for Sunday's NFL game (October 25) to exercise caution. Significant marches are also planned in Orléans on October 24–25.
Context: Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu asked prefects on October 19 to impose partial, localized curfews; Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez reinforced police and gendarmerie personnel; Commerce Minister Serge Papin estimates at least 3,000 businesses were victimized by looting, with support measures planned for them.
