Paris: RATP to close 6 metro stations from 10am Tuesday for student march

RATP announced on October 5 that, on orders from the Paris police prefecture (Préfecture de police), six stations will close from 10:00 on October 6: Charonne (Line 9), Oberkampf (Lines 5/9), Richard-Lenoir (Line 5), Rue des Boulets (Line 9), Saint-Ambroise (Line 9) and Voltaire (Line 9). Trains will pass through without stopping and in-station transfers will be closed; reopening requires police authorization.
The closures are for the student demonstration departing Place de la République at 2pm on October 6, with unions CGT, FSU, Solidaires and FNEC-FO joining in support.
