The Paris police prefecture announced on October 26 that the République area will be under curfew from 11 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. on October 27, limited to the République area only; République station will not be served on lines 3, 5, 8, 9 and 11 from 11 p.m., and some RER A, B and D branches face works from 9:45 p.m.

The République area of Paris is under curfew again tonight. The Paris police prefecture announced on October 26 that remaining in the area around Place de la République will be banned from 11 p.m. tonight until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, applying to adults and minors alike; the exact boundaries and exemptions are those set out in the prefectural order in force for the night, so check it before travelling.

How tonight differs from previous nights

This curfew covers only the République area. The previous order covering several nights (No. 2026-01407) expired at 6 a.m. on Monday, and the Châtelet–Les Halles area is no longer included. According to Le Parisien, citing details from the police prefecture, the decision follows announcements of gatherings in tribute to the victims of the Trappes attack.

What it means for transport

RATP says République station will not be served from 11 p.m. tonight on lines 3, 5, 8, 9 and 11, as a security measure requested by the Paris police prefecture; no reopening time has been specified, so check whether your line is serving the station again before heading there on Tuesday morning. Engineering works will also change routes on some RER A, B and D branches, with the first service suspensions from 9:45 p.m. Passengers travelling through République should get off at another stop or change elsewhere, and take the curfew zone and applicable exemptions into account for any final leg on foot.

Other restrictions in the inner suburbs

In Paris and the inner-suburb departments of Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne, three further orders apply through Monday, October 26, inclusive: Order No. 2026-01409 regulates the acquisition, possession, carrying and transport of certain fireworks and pyrotechnic devices; Order No. 2026-01410 prohibits transporting and distributing fuel, including flammable gas, in individual containers; and Order No. 2026-01411 prohibits carrying and transporting weapons and objects that could be used as weapons without a legitimate reason. Each order has its own scope and conditions, so rely on the official texts and check RATP traffic updates and the Île-de-France Mobilités journey planner before setting off.
