São Paulo FC hosts women from breast cancer campaign ahead of free mammography drive at MorumBIS

· N GLOBE

São Paulo FC welcomed women from the "Marque Esse Gol" breast cancer awareness campaign to its Barra Funda training center on Oct. 13; a mobile mammography unit will offer free screenings at MorumBIS on Oct. 15–16.

Why it matters

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The "Marque Esse Gol" ("Score This Goal") campaign pairs football's visibility with public health, bringing a free screening truck right into the stadium to lower barriers for women — breast cancer detected early has a cure rate of up to 95%.

As part of the Pink October program, a mobile mammography unit will offer free exams at MorumBIS on Thursday Oct. 15 and Friday Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Gate 17 (Avenida Giovanni Gronchi, 1866); pre-registration at marqueessegol.com.br is required.

Brazilian media report this is the 11th year of the FPF's Pink October campaign, with more than 1,040 free mammograms planned across stadiums in São Paulo state; after the São Paulo stop, the unit moves on to Palmeiras' ground (Oct. 19–20) and Corinthians' ground (Oct. 27–28).
