Singapore hosts Indian finance minister Sitharaman for three-day visit focused on investment, semiconductors

From Oct 9–11, Sitharaman will meet PM Lawrence Wong, President Tharman and heads of Temasek, GIC and others; Singapore is India's largest FDI source with about $194.68 billion in cumulative inflows.
Why it matters
Singapore is India's largest source of foreign direct investment, and New Delhi is actively courting more Singaporean capital. The finance minister's trip includes a hedge fund managers' roundtable and a series of one-to-one meetings with heads of global investment institutions, covering semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, digital financial connectivity and other key areas — a significant step for the two countries' Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
