SpaceX scrubs Starlink 15-15 launch for third straight day as weather halts countdown in final seconds

SpaceX called off the Starlink 15-15 mission carrying 27 satellites from Vandenberg for a third consecutive day on Oct. 22, 2026, with the launch director halting the countdown in its final seconds due to poor weather. The next window opens Friday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m. PDT.
Why it matters
Three scrubs in three days for the same Falcon 9: a technical issue Tuesday, weather Wednesday and Thursday. SpaceX's launch cadence is now so dense that tracking sites admit they sometimes cannot agree on the details of a single mission.
Full report
The Starlink 15-15 mission was set to lift off Thursday from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California with 27 Starlink satellites aboard, Spaceflight Now reported. The launch director called a hold in the final seconds of the countdown due to poor weather, after a technical issue scrubbed Tuesday's attempt and weather stopped Wednesday's.
The next window opens Friday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m. PDT (5:30 p.m. EDT). The flight uses first-stage booster B1063 on its 36th mission, which would make it the second booster to reach three dozen flights; it will target a landing on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas.
Separately, SpaceX president and COO Gwynne Shotwell said on Tuesday's third-quarter earnings call that Starlink added 1.6 million customers in the quarter and is active across 174 markets worldwide, not counting hundreds of thousands of enterprise and aviation subscribers.
