Man charged after alleged carjacking spree causes chaos in Sydney's CBD; woman hit by dislodged bollard

At about 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, a 36-year-old man allegedly stole a Mazda sedan from a 26-year-old woman at the King/Pitt Streets intersection in Sydney's CBD.
He drove along George St, collided with a rideshare vehicle at Market St (driver 27, passenger 24), then hit a police car and struck a roadside bollard; the bollard was dislodged and flew into a 58-year-old woman.
The woman was taken to hospital in stable condition with a cut to her head. The man was arrested at the scene and has been charged.
NSW Police Acting Superintendent Adam Solah described it as "definitely a chaotic scene," and police said bystanders assisted the injured.
