The City of Sydney has announced on its website that all of its community centres will be closed on Monday, 12 October for a staff development day. The council apologised for any inconvenience.
The 12 affected centres span the inner city — Redfern, Alexandria, Woolloomooloo, The Rocks, Pyrmont, Potts Point, Glebe and Ultimo — and include the Redfern Community Centre, Ultimo Community Centre, Pyrmont Community Centre, King George V Recreation Centre, Juanita Nielsen Community Centre and St Helen's Community Centre. They host indoor basketball, recreation facilities, creative workshops and a wide range of community classes.
The council advises anyone with a class, booking or regular activity on Monday to check the official community-centre pages before travelling.
