Sydney Airport will open its first independent domestic lounge in early December. Plaza Premium Group (PPG) announced on October 30 a A$20 million investment program in Australia, headlined by the new Plaza Premium Lounge Sydney Domestic: a 113-seat, 545-square-metre facility airside at Terminal 2, opposite Gate 49 at Pier B, scheduled to open in early December, ahead of the busy Christmas travel period.

Who can enter, and what it costs

It will be the first independent pay-per-use lounge in Sydney Airport's domestic precinct: departing passengers can enter regardless of airline, ticket class or frequent flyer status, serving carriers including Virgin Australia and Jetstar at T2. Entry starts at A$54, available through advance booking and walk-ins, as well as selected credit card and membership programs. Inside, the lounge will offer quiet workspaces, high-speed connectivity, locally inspired food and beverage options, barista coffee and a full-service bar.

More than just Sydney

The Sydney opening will coincide with the completion of Sydney Airport's A$200 million T2 redevelopment, and will bring PPG's Sydney Airport portfolio to six hospitality products, making it the company's largest Australian location. The same investment program includes a complete rebuild of its Brisbane International lounge and a new domestic lounge at Cairns Airport in early 2027. The expansion marks PPG's tenth anniversary in Australia: the group opened the country's first independent international airport lounge at Brisbane Airport in 2016, and opened Australia's first independent domestic lounge at Adelaide in November 2025.
