Sydney's new airport electric shuttle opens ticket sales ahead of Oct. 25 launch

Western Sydney International Airport has launched the Super Shuttle WSI electric express bus ahead of its Oct. 25 passenger opening, with ticket sales open from Oct. 1 and direct routes to Parramatta, Sydney CBD and Sydney Airport.
Why it matters
Sydney's second airport opens to passengers on October 25, but its metro rail link won't arrive until late 2027. The Super Shuttle is one of the first ground-transport options in place for day one, so the fares and routes announced today directly shape how millions of first-year travellers will get there.

Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport on Wednesday (Sept. 30) unveiled the "Super Shuttle WSI" electric express bus, operated by NSBC Group under a five-year deal. Ticket sales opened on Oct. 1, with services starting on the airport's Oct. 25 passenger opening day.
Three direct routes will run: WSI to Parramatta CBD from A$25, WSI to Sydney CBD from A$55 (adult return A$80, child single A$25), and WSI to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport from A$65. The low-floor electric buses seat 37 and include luggage racks and wheelchair and pram spaces.
NSBC Group business manager Paul Anderson said the service will give travellers a direct, affordable link on day one, while WSI CEO Simon Hickey said it forms a core part of the airport's opening ground transport. Local media noted Liverpool CBD is not on the initial route map, a point the operator says will be reviewed as demand grows.
